When Lisa's mum Lynn said it was strange how Dom had attempted to resuscitate her but hadn't called 999, he replied: "I know, I was completely shocked. ![]() "It weren't like a massive fall but I wasn't watching her, I just heard it." "It's something we've done a lot before when we sing it together. "She was going back up the stairs to then turn around and come down and make her appearance, like when Elton John came onstage," Dom explained. He said while he didn't see her fall, he heard the heavy thud. However, Dom explained at the inquest that, after she had fallen he first carried Lisa to the settee then, when he realised she wasn't breathing, moved her back to the floor to try to resuscitate her.ĭom explained that Lisa would only have been three or four steps up the stairs as this was how the pair would normally re-enact George Michael and Elton John's performance. When police searched Lisa's home, they found blood at the bottom of the stairs as well as on the side of the settee which they initially viewed as suspicious. He sobbed as he expressed his shame and remorse at having left Lisa, without calling an ambulance, after realising she was dead. As is the right of any detainee, and no indication or admission of guilt, Dom's solicitor at the police station advised him to answer "no comment" to all questions.ĭuring last week's inquest, Dom was finally able to tell Lisa's family what actually happened on that fateful night. This was because after Lisa's death, Dom was one of three men, along with Lisa's then partner and her housemate, who were arrested on suspicion of murder. Until the inquest, Lisa's family had no idea how she had come to fall or where she had banged her head. Tragically, as Lisa went up the stairs a few steps, in order to turn around and enter the "stage", she slipped and fell backwards. ![]() Lisa and Dom regularly did an impression of this performance where Lisa would act as John. ![]() The mother to four, of Goodshaw, near Burnley, Lancashire, had spent the afternoon and evening drinking with her best friend Dom Farrington and at some point after 8.17pm the pair launched into a rendition of George Michael's duet with Elton John of Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me.ĭuring the former Wham! singer's rendition at Wembley in 1991, at the final show of his tour, Michael surprised the crowd by introducing Elton John to the stage midway through the song.
